Porch Decorations for Halloween

Half the fun of Halloween is decorating your house with all the spook-tacular effects for the scariest day of the year. Dress up your entry, porch or front door and give all the trick-or-treaters a little fright when they come to the door. Regardless of how much space you have, there are plenty of halloween decoration ideas to try this year. Here are some of our favorite fall decoration ideas for you to try this Halloween season:
Halloween decorations for porch or entryway: It's pumpkin season, so utilize the easy access to the most usable decoration prop available. Carve some of the pumpkins and leave others plain. Place several fake black crows all over the space, you could even hang tree branches and place the crows on them. For another scary detail, string paper bats on clear string and hang from the ceililng. Use cornstalks tied to outdoor structures as a simple way to dress up a bare space.
Pumpkin decorations: Instead of carving faces into pumpkins, try carving shapes or patterns. Another fun effect is to scrape patterns or quotes into the pumpkin, leaving a thin layer of skin. A lit candle completes the spooky look. Fake pumpkins (found at craft stores) come in a variety of colors and are light enough that they can be hung from different places and used to make wreaths or in flower arrangements.
Halloween door decor: Paint large cardboard letters in any Halloween-related word you want (found at craft stores) with glossy black paint and hang them from the door. Add some pumpkin lights or regular Christmas lights around the doorway. Add a spider web or two and you have the perfect Halloween doorway.
Whether you like to go over-the-top or be understated with decor details, decorating for such a fun holiday is a great way to get everyone in the spooky spirit.
