Hobby Club Planning Tips & Ideas

Want to start a book club? Or host a scrapbooking party? How about a weekly poker night or knitting circle? Whatever your hobby, hosting a get-together around your favorite activity is the perfect way to bring friends together for a fun and fabulous time.

If you’re not already in a hobby club, it’s easy to start your own. The first thing you need to do is give thoughtful attention to who you’d like to join your group. This is a great opportunity to reach out to people you may be interested in getting to know better but haven’t made the effort otherwise.

Once you decide on your list of invitees, send them an online invitation for your first gathering with all the important event information they need. We have the perfect invite to match your hobby club, including this cute Knitting Club invitation, several Scrapbooking invitations, a wide range of Book Club invitations, and Game Night invitations with designs featuring Monopoly, Scrabble, Bunco, poker, video games, and more!

Once you’ve customized your invitation, you can send it right from our phone via text or email and guests can RSVP in just a few clicks! You can also see who has opened your invitation, resend the invite, or follow up with guests who have not yet responded.

In general, it’s good to have between 8-10 members in your club so you’ll always have at least a handful of people who are available to attend each gathering. Need to increase your club size? Ask each guest to invite one other person to the group by clicking the “forward” link on their invitation so they can easily send it to others. Not to worry: the RSVPs of the new guests who are invited will show up right alongside all the other RSVPs!

Once your invitations are sent, it’s time to think about food! Because everyone’s hands will be full with a book, knitting needles, or dice at your club, it’s best to serve simple finger foods like veggies and dip, chips and salsa, and cheese and crackers. Remember to avoid greasy foods so that dirty fingers don’t ruin a beautiful scarf or scrapbook!

Whether you gather once a week or once a month, hobby clubs are a great excuse to get together for social time and enjoy a favorite activity among friends. Happy planning!
